The Mega Annual Viking Funeral
Steeped in decades of history, The Mega Annual Viking Funeral is DBCYA's biggest night of the year. An annual institution that is a firm fixture on the Darwin annual entertainment calendar for locals and visitors alike.
NEXT VIKING FUNERAL - SAT 12 JULY 2025
Darwin's most atmospheric event where Inner Vikings come out to play and medieval merriment abounds. Tribute Viking Vessel burning, fire shows, lively music till late, extra bars and seating, hearty food stalls, 'Most Likely Viking' competitions for kids and adults, face painting, loads of badass costumes plus special performances by the Darwin Pipe Band and Top End Bow Hunters. Viking costume definitely encouraged.
There's a big range of Viking hats, stubby coolers and Nordic drinking tankards for sale in the merch tent.

Entry Fee
- DBCYA Members: free (join up by 15 June to qualify)
- Non-members:

- Adults $45 (early bird till 31 May $37.50)
- Kids <18 $15 (early bird till 31 May $10)
- All kids must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
Gates open 5pm.
NOTE:
- No metal weapons.
- No BYO food, drink or personal chairs.
- NO DOGS THIS NIGHT ONLY - there's just too much action going down.
- Leave your car at home if possible - limited parking.
