Four careening pole sites are available for Full members and are a popular choice for short stay minor repairs and maintenance on their personal recreational vessel. Vessels cannot be disabled on the poles.
Bookings are required in advance at the Club office during weekday hours (not the bar) and the user must enter into a Careening Poles Agreement prior to use and abide by all operating T&Cs (provided at time of booking), including correct PPE.
-
Site rental is $30 per 24 hours.
-
Users are to supply their public liability insurance CoC (third party risk minimum, $10,000,000 cover minimum), otherwise an additional levy applies to have protection under the Club’s risk policy.
-
This is a DIY facility with contaminant capture procedures – the user is required to follow all operating instructions when removing antifoul, paint encrusted barnacles etc. A $200 environmental deposit is required at the time of booking for contaminant removal.
-
Weight restrictions apply.
-
Users must undergo a briefing prior to use and be versed with correct careening tie-off practices. Users are required to be present when the vessel keel initially touches the ground to adjust ropes as required.
-
There is also a careening berth against the wharf (preferred site for internal works) and a sandy beach site for multi-hulls and self supporting keel vessels.
